A Wide Range of Programs Awaits
The Shiga Kogen Visitor Center is located on the second floor of Sogo Kaikan 98 in Hasuike. With experiential exhibits that combine video and interactive displays, the center introduces visitors to three main themes: the land of Shiga Kogen, the plants and animals that live here, and the relationship between people and nature. It is a facility where visitors can enjoy and easily understand not only the natural environment of Shiga Kogen, but also the area’s history and culture.
The center also offers a wide range of programs, including trekking with certified guides and hands-on craft experiences. It is the kind of place you will want to visit not just once, but again and again.
Hosted by the Ichinose Ryokan Association, representatives from hotels in the Ichinose area recently visited the Shiga Kogen Visitor Center for a tour.
With members of the guide association, visitors can explore a variety of exhibits that explain everything from the formation of Shiga Kogen to the area as it is today.
