Notice of the Renewal Opening of the Shiga Kogen Visitor Center

The Shiga Kogen Visitor Center, formerly known as the Nagano Prefecture Shiga Kogen Nature Conservation Center, has been closed for renovation work since September 2025. We are pleased to announce that it will reopen on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

The renewed exhibition hall features interactive displays that visitors can see, touch, and experience, incorporating video content under the themes of “The Land of Shiga Kogen,” “Plants and Animals That Live Here,” and “The Relationship Between People and Nature.”

The facility has been reborn as a place where visitors can enjoyably and easily discover not only the natural environment of Shiga Kogen, but also its history and culture, even more deeply than before.
As before, a wide variety of programs will also be available, including trekking and mountain guides provided by the affiliated Shiga Kogen Guide Association, as well as craft experiences inside the center. We aim to make this a facility that visitors will want to return to again and again.

As the gateway to the nature of Shiga Kogen, we sincerely look forward to welcoming many visitors.
