[Lift Operating Info] Yokoteyama-Shibutoge Summer Lifts Now a Three-Line System | Through October 25, Up to the 2,307 m Summit

Summer operation at the Yokoteyama-Shibutoge Ski Area is now in full swing. From July 6, the Shibutoge No. 1 Romance Lift joined in, making a three-line system together with the Skylator and the Yokoteyama No. 3 Sky Lift. Operation runs 8:45 to 15:20, through October 25.

At 2,307 meters, Yokoteyama-Shibutoge is known as the highest-altitude ski area in Japan.
Its transport system for the summer mountain season became a three-line system on July 6.

• June 11 to July 5: Skylator and Yokoteyama No. 3 Sky Lift (round trip only)
• July 6 to October 25: Skylator, Yokoteyama No. 3 Sky Lift, and Shibutoge No. 1 Romance Lift in operation
• October 26 to November 3: Shibutoge Romance Lift round trip only
• Operating hours: 8:45 to 15:20

Please note that on July 15 the Shibutoge Romance Lift is closed for electrical-meter replacement work. Operating conditions change from day to day, so please check the official website and the Shiga Kogen Ropeway Association’s operating info before you head out.

It’s about 20 minutes by car from Ichinose. The summit at 2,307 meters has crisp air even at the height of summer, where you can enjoy a “cool escape in the sky,” looking out over Shiga Kogen from above the clouds.
