The Shiga Kogen Prince Hotel on Yakebitaiyama ended its winter operation on April 5, 2026. Next season’s opening is scheduled for December 4 for the South Wing, December 18 for the West Wing, and December 19 for the East Wing.
The Shiga Kogen Prince Hotel, which stands at the foot of the Yakebitaiyama Ski Area, ended its 2025-26 season winter operation on Sunday, April 5, 2026. As the hotel operates in winter, it is closed this summer.
The official website has also announced the scheduled opening for next season.

- West Wing: Friday, December 18, 2026
- East Wing: Saturday, December 19, 2026
Also, the “Ikon Pass,” an international shared lift pass that covers the Yakebitaiyama Ski Area as well, has begun sales for the 2026/2027 season.
The area around Yakebitaiyama is quiet in summer, but in winter the three Prince Hotel wings open one after another and it comes alive all at once. If you’re thinking about a stay over the year-end and New Year holidays or a long weekend, keep the opening dates in mind and plan early.
